DH's crizaazzzy aunt is one of the people who believes the earthquake in Haiti was because of their "devil worshipping" and she's going on and on via FB statuses to promote this.
I'm glad the rest of DH's family is calling her out on what an azzhat she's being. I am tempted to ask her if it was God's will that her husband died early of a heart attack because of her being a racist? But I promise to keep my mouth shut and laugh at everyone who is calling her out on her stupidity.

Re: Oh Sweet Geezus
She's a b!tch. I hate it when people do it but its especially bad when its someone in the family. Luckily its really only her that is like that...the rest of DH's family is pretty great.
This...I saw this on msnbc on one of the evening political shows, and the dude was really p'od and said " Pat (I can't remember the last name), I WISH you to hell". DH and I laughed incredulously that this so-called evangelist was preaching this stuff. And the lady he was talking to on his show just kept nodding her head - unreal.
That would be Virginia's very own Pat Robertson. He does the 700 Club and also runs Regent University in Chesapeake. He's a nut and we in Hampton Roads are no longer surprised by the things that come out of his mouth. Basically everyone thinks he's a big joke.
He also thinks he prays away hurricanes from Virginia Beach.
Bwahaha....my mom said the same thing! I made some comment on how Haiti seem perpetually hosed with all the poverty and war and unrest and she accredited it to them not following God. I too was like, uh hello, plenty of people that faithfully follow God still experience hardship, it's a part of life! Good call on not making the comment about her deceased DH...she probably would have started praying for your imminent demise!
My mom and I get in this "discussion" all the time. She always says that I am not a "true" Christian, I tell her that I am more of a Christian than she is because I don't judge or condem others, that I believe in loving our neighbor. But of course, I lived in sin before I got married, and had premarital relations, so I am going to hell anyway. I wonder how hard she must pray for my sister who not only lives in sin but had a baby out of wedlock! The whole thing is crazy! I would have to block Aunts posts if I was you, they would drive me nuts!
