Curling Iron recs

I blame my stylist - he used it on my hair on Friday and now I never want to look back... What size barrel would I need for that loose, sexy curl look?

Re: Curling Iron recs

  • Your hair did look amazing in your bday pic.

Here's my opinion. If your hair holds a curl well, get a 1.5 inch. My hair does very well with that. If your hair is fine or does not hold a curl well, get something a little smaller. The curls will loosen on their own.

I did a quick look on youtube. This one seems like a good example of what you'll get with a 1.5

  • I agree....a 1 1/2 inch will probably do the trick.  That's what I have, although my hair only holds a curl for about an hour, no matter what I do.

  • My hair is super fine. =( The curl managed to stay in all day though... Hm...
  • You should ask your stylist what kind of products he used...I'd be interested to find out if there is some kind of magic product for holding curl in super-fine hair.

  • Def use 1.5 inch, unless you have a hard time holding a curl, then use the 1 inch.  I use the 1 inch on my hair, but it's shorter.

Lelekay - I wish there was some magic product.  Definitely don't try to get clean hair to hold a curl if it's super fine (like mine), I always curl mine on the second day.  The other thing I do for me - and my hair clients - is take the hair in sections, curl each section then use a working spray to help give it a little more hold before moving it.  Also be sure to let each curl cool as that will help set it.

  • I would do a 1 inch and grab bigger sections of hair. 1.5 does not hold the curl as long. Get a hot tools curling iron off folica.com
