Crossfit.....Have you tried this?
I was wondering if anyone has tried Crossfit? Please tell me about it. I am looking for a group class that is affordable and not with a monthly memberships.
I most likely will be going to the one in San Elijo. Any info is helpful.
TIA
S.Rogers
Re: Crossfit.....Have you tried this?
CrossFit is sort of franchise-ish. Each gym has their own programming and pricing and runs differently from the next one. The one thing the all have in common is that they all follow the CrossFit principal of randomly selected, functional movements, executed at high intensity. Aside from that, you'd have to visit each one to see if they have pricing that fits your needs. Have you looked into the pricing at some local affiliates? If not, you may be a bit sticker-shocked. It's great training, but it's not cheap.
I currently work out at CrossFit SoCal in Kearny Mesa. We used to have a punch card option, where you could buy 12 sessions for $150, but I don't know if that's still available. Perhaps some of the other affiliates have a similar option. We also run CrossFit Weekend Warriors, which is a free once-per-week session held at Mission Bay Park on Saturdays at 10am. With that program, there's never any push for commitment and it's always free. Though, if you're in San Marcos, that may be a bit far for you.
I'm not too familiar with many of the affiliates in North County. They seem to be popping up left and right, so I can't offer any suggestions as to which may be best. Good luck in finding the right fit though! If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at chrissy dot denoyer at gmail dot com.
