I have the kiddo trained...
He perfectly bagged my groceries at the store. I had two bottles of wine and he even knew to place one of the bottles in its own bag before putting them in a bag together.
I think I'll keep him.
Now I'm baking a yellow cake and I'm going to put chocolate frosting on it. No flaxseed flour here.
Re: I have the kiddo trained...
Make ganache? It's the easiest thing in the world.
mrsconn aren't you afraid you've turned your son into an alcoholic 4lyfe now that he's touched wine?!?!?!?!?!11?//?
Or, he has a promising career as a bag boy when he turns 15;-)
Yep, we're saving for his rehab fund now.
I told DH if he keeps this up (the bagging) he won't need any training when he goes to work at Kroger.
Ganache isn't the same. Maybe it's like gravy - I just have to keep doing it until I figure out the problem. And hope it's not like pie crust, where the problem is my cold, dry hands.
I use this recipe except I use Ghirardelli cocoa powder.
"PERFECTLY CHOCOLATE" CHOCOLATE FROSTING
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine
2/3 cup HERSHEY'S Cocoa
3 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Melt butter. Stir in cocoa. Alternately add powdered sugar and milk, beating to spreading consistency. Add small amount additional milk, if needed. Stir in vanilla. About 2 cups frosting.
Very true, Bmom.
In a quest to find an icing recipe for you I stumbled across a recipe for black walnut cake and now I'm drooling.
decent frosting isn't really hard, IMO. Not onc eyou get the hang of it. I just do buttercream 99.9% of the time and flavor it as I want...
1/4 c of cocoa powder and, wallah, chocolate buttercream.
