I have pictures of ME like this as a child and it is definately not porn.(Meaning in a swimsuit, in a bathtub with no clothing and it is mean to be cute, no gross)

Re: WDYT?

  • WOW!  They're taking this way too far. Geez....What if it was his own kid?  Would it be porn then?!
  • I saw this the other day and it made me sad. I mean, I get the point of needing to protect kids, but this is a bit much, IMO. If it's clearly innocent (i.e. Joey, I know you're sad - look at how much fun Missy had on the 4th of July! She's doing so great but really misses you! Love, Mom. Picture attached) it doesn't need to be addressed further than the initial RED FLAG, Nope, it's cool.

  • That's terrible. There has to be more to the story though, surely the National Guard has better things to do otherwise.
  • TD, are you wondering if there were more images that could have seemed out of place? Could be. The thought crossed my mind also. Only the one photo was named in the story..

Or the National Guard may just be picky so that if there were a soldier with these types of images and they wrote it off as family pictures, they could be viewed as ok with this? (If that makes sense?)

  • I'm thinking the soldier had something else--like a cache of real child porn on his computer--and when he was faced with telling his family why he was being court martialed and kept in Afghanistan, he told his family "I don't get it, these are the only pictures I had" as a way to save face.

I'm just suspicious about the way the story seems to originate from the soldier's mom, when moms aren't always the most unbiased sources of information for why their children are in trouble with the law.
