She peed in the potty last night...

What a big girl!!!  After her bath I said " do you need to go pee pee" and she ran right over, sat down and peed!  She got up, looked in the toilet, pointed and said " pee pee".  She was so proud!   I"m so proud!   But, It was probably just a coincidence, or good timing, but its a good start!   Then she peed ALL over her changing table this morning!!!!

Re: She peed in the potty last night...

  • yay thats awesome!!!!!  baby steps!  you may have a really good wek, then a crappy week of it.  its definatly not easy. =) but thats awesome that she went!!!!!

  • Hey, once is better than not at all! Go Brianna!!! :)
  • yay, brianna! ?jude has done it once, too. ? he always pees on the floor after his bath, so now we sit him on the potty while he brushes his teeth. ?we got lucky once! ?haha ?he mostly likes to just rip off toilet paper and put it in the toilet, though.
  • YAY for peeing in the Potty!!  One time or not, it is still great!!

  • Definitely a good start!!!  YAY!!!  What a big girl!!  Are you doing any kind of positive reinforcements w/ her like a sticker chart or something else developmentally appropriate?  Go Brianna!!
  • Amye-  I'am not doing any positive reinforcement things with her right now.  I want to, but I'm not sure what to do thats apropriate for her age.  I don't think she'll get the whole sticker chart thing right now.  The only thing I can think of is food... but I'm not sure I want to start that.  Any ideas?   Last night when she peed.. I just said to her " good girl, I"m so proud of you!". I gave her a big hug and kiss and that was about it.  But I think she definately gets that what she did was right!
  • Maura, I don't do any stickers/food or anything, either. ?I'm not really 'hardcore' training him, he has just been showing some signs (like Brianna) so figured it can't hurt to plop him on there once in awhile. ?The one time he did pee, I was jumping up and down and clapping and cheering - he was proud as can be and beaming, so I think at this point, that is good enough reinforcement for them.
  • Very good start!  That sounds too good to be true, perfect even.  (And with this morning's pee, apparently it was!  LOL!)
  • I remember when DD first peed in the potty.  Me and DH were soooo happy.  We called our parents and told them.  After we calmed down a bit, we were like "wait a minute, are we this excited about her peeing??"  It was a funny realization.
  • Woo Hoo! Go Brianna! Thats a great start, hopefully she continues the trend! Keep us posted!
