V-Day at home

DH is having his wisdom teeth extracted a few days before valentine's this year and I think we will be home bound.

Any suggestions about how we can make the day special and stay at home?  Btw, V-day is very important to me, but he needed to have this procedure done asap.

Re: V-Day at home

  • Could you try to celebrate on another day?  With his wisdom teeth just out he isn't going to be in the mood to really celebrate.  For food, I would suggest maybe making some soup, soft bread.  Movie at home?

  • You can easily do V-day at home and make it special.  You can do a breakfast in bed with scrambled eggs or hot cereal - both will be great for him.  A couple days after the surgery he'll be feeling almost as good as new, but I'm still paranoid about dry socket, so I'd stick to something soft.

I don't know where in CA you are, but you could plan a morning or evening stroll on the beach if it stops raining and the weather cooperates.

Rent a bunch of your favorite movies - they don't even have to be romances, and cuddle on the couch together under a blanket watching them.

Dinner time comes around light some candles and have something nice - most shellfish is relatively "romantic" and soft/easy to eat.  Either mussels or claims with pasta, broiled lobster tail, steamed crab legs....

  • when i think of valentines day celebration i think of evening/dinner-ish time. i would also suggest maybe a soup or something soft. served in bed or on the couch to snuggle while watching a movie or an at home game night. FI and i like playing the Wii together or board games like 'trouble'. you could find a recipe for some sort of pudding cup so it'd be nice and soft for him to eat.

  • I would think maybe dessertish to make it special at home... how about chocolate pudding ice cream, or a milkshake and a movie to cuddle up to while you are spending it at home. I hope everything goes well for him.
