Re: How was your weekend?

  • All in all, it was a good weekend.

Saturday was great - the inspection went really well, with no major issues found.  It was so fun to spend 2 hours in our house!! Smile  Then we went to Target, where we bought Henry a bunch of cute clothes on clearance!  That night we had a date night in the city - yummy dinner at one of my favorite restaurants.  I ate like a pregnant woman (appetizer, dinner, dessert, two mocktails Wink) and loved it.  Couldn't have asked for a better day.

Sunday we had a family birthday party to go to.  It was good - lots of excitement from the relatives over the baby bump.  Everyone likes the name Henry Smile.  Then we did a quick grocery store run, and spent the night at home.

Monday was kind of a bummer, becuase C was only supposed to work until 2:00, but ended up getting stuck there and didn't get home until 6:15.  But it wasn't bad until we realized she was going to have to work late - before that I watched the Golden Globes on dvr and got a lot of laundry done.

  • Yesterday was lovely indeed!  We all slept in (meaning 7:30am) and leisurely got the kids ready for school.  Andrea dropped them off while i spent some time cleaning the house (and waiting for a prescription to be delivered).  When she got back we napped and relaxed before heading out to lunch and a movie (saw Its Complicated, which was so much better than i was expecting!).  It was great :)

The rest of our weekend was wonderful as well.  Saturday we met friends for a walk and chinese food before nap (Sprout's first time in a restaurant other than Moe's and he did quite well!).  After nap we  went to a super cool kids museum.  Sprout had such a blast that we bought the family membership which gives us unlimited access to it and a few other museums in our area for the year.  On the way home Andrea decided to stop for ice cream (before dinner) and you would have thought it was christmas all over again he was so excited!

Sunday we tried Church for the first time since getting the kids and it went  well.  It helps that my mom was Sprout's church school teacher so he transitioned into that like a pro. After Church we had a quick visit at my parent's house and spent the rest of the day doing errands/cleaning/ect.

Sprout's behavior this weekend was such a joy.  It was sooo soooo soooo nice to enjoy his company and our time together rather than feeling like i was working the whole time.  Maybe i am cut out for this mom thing after all?

  • thanks ladies :) There are days that i've wondered...and i'm sure I will again, but i'll enjoy this time while i have it!

     How was your weekend Two?

  • This weekend was productive and exhausting.  I didn't get the 1st-tri exhaustion that most other pregnant ladies do, but I think my body is making up for that now.  I can put in a good 5-8 hours of work/labor/errands and then I'm d.o.n.e.

Friday night K and I visited Abba916, her DH, and their new baby in the hospital.  Then I'm pretty sure I feel asleep on the couch.

Saturday we spent the day cleaning and organizing the garage.  We boxed up a ton of stuff for the Goodwill and set aside other things for one last garage sale come spring.

Sunday I visited Abba in the hospital again and then K and I ran errands for a few hours.

I spent all of yesterday organizing my 2009 paperwork.  I filed away all my bills and got things together for the tax man.  It felt really good to clear away 09 and start 2010 looking at an organized file cart :-p

  • Sounds like everyone had nicely busy weekends!

    We were very productive.
Friday night I had a movie night with two friends.

Saturday we went car shopping, and bought Trav a new(-to-us) car. His was a '95 2-door, way too small for him to use to transport the babe and was on its last legs anyway. It was time and I think we found a car that will satisfy our needs without being too expensive.

Sunday we installed one of the carseats in my car (the other will go in his car once it is detailed), did the final load of baby wash, put away all the baby clothes, packed my labor bag, made up her crib, and washed all the toys/pacifiers/etc that needed to be washed. Basically her nursery is ready (other then hanging up her wall letters)!

My mom also called to talk fabric with me, and she's now working on Gwen's own comforter.  :-)

Yesterday I had off and had a super lazy day. Ran to the grocery store to get some stuff for dinner (plus tangerines... mmm, man am I loving tangerines right now), but otherwise just relaxed a lot. I think I was a bit worn out from the rest of the weekend. I definitely have a finite amount of "umph" in me nowadays, and if I try to do too much, I get sore. So I rested up yesterday.

  • I am so happy to hear everyone had well behaved children, good inspections and got a lot accomplished.

We had a nice weekend. We went out to dinner with my family and the girls did very well. I was worried because LMC has been so difficult lately but she was perfect. Before it started to pour s took the girls to the park and I had a whole hour to myself. The car got serviced and we worked on PBS' b-day plans, listened to the rain and just relaxed.

sounds like exactly the weekend you needed/deserved! so glad to hear about it :)
  • We had a pretty mellow weekend.  Stayed in on Fri.  Sat we went to the nicu and it was great to see everyone.  They were so amazed  with how big she is and told us she was really cute.  It is so odd being a visitor there and was pretty empty in the waiting room.  I was worried I would freak out being back but it was just like being home again.  Sun. we stayed in and looked at the pretty snow.   Monday my friend came over and we had bagels (yum) and in the evening we drove to a friends house to pick up some things.  I wanted to get to bru for some things but it didn't happen. I also got a ton of correcting done which is great.  Now I just have to enter the grades and then pass it all back!

  • weekend was and low key. We were dog sitting which was exhausting - my dog wants to play with the other 4 ALL NIGHT - but we did retile the tub surround! We'll finish it next weekend I think. And Monday C had her CD3 bloodwork. This is really happenning...
  • I guess our weekend started on Friday, since we both took the day off for the babies' appointments. C was scheduled to have her 3-hour glucose test EARLY Friday morning, but when she got to the lab they told her that they did not have orders for her to have the exam...she would have to wait a couple of more hours to get them; she re-scheduled for Monday. That afternoon we had the NSTs done; the babies are doing well. HOWEVER, C is measuring as if she were 39 weeks pregnant, the doctor wants her off her feet. The doctor and she compromised and she can only work 3-days a week, 6-hours per day. We were not quite ready to use leave time nor have a financial reduction, but all will be well. After the appointment, I took C to eat and we both decided to buy her a recliner (she is having a hard time sleeping in bed...let alone sleeping). Since I had to return a suit to JC Penney's we went and looked at their furniture selection...lo' and behold we found the perfect recliner/rocker (we bought two)! It was the very first time C every went into a place and bought something without checking out reviews or comparing to other similar items...I was HAPPY! By then we both were both tired and went home and straight to bed (we had been going 9 hours straight).

Saturday was supposed to be this very busy let's get things done day...but it wasn't. I woke up early and ran to Einstein Brothers for bagels. We ate breakfast and snuggled for a bit...we both fell back to sleep so quickly...it was 2:30 pm, before we woke up again. Of course I turned the TV to sports and that was all she wrote. C slept a good part of the day...sitting up on the couch while I just watched the tube. Though not much got done, C was finally able to have some decent rest.

Sunday it rained, but we made sure to make it to Church. We came home had breakfast and cleaned some. A friend of ours from work came over to help me take the tree down and store it in the attic and she surprised us by making us this wonderful casserole. She also helped me assemble the changing table...though our friend offered to help, C and I decided that we will assemble the cribs ourselves. After we finished the changing table, we visited a bit, and watched part of the NY Jets/San Diego game. Once she left, C and I talked a bit and I put my head on C's lap, talked to the babies, then fell asleep while C rubbed my hair.

Monday Morning C had the 3-hour glucose test. I had planned to surprise her by showing up at the end of the test, but she called me while she was laying down in the office and I told her that I was on my way...she sounded terrible. She felt better after awhile, so we ran to CVS and Target, got gas for the week, and picked up Taco Bell (yes, that is what the kiddos were craving). I had promised C a nap, but I could not fall asleep, so as she slept, I gathered all the laundry and washed clothes...(I also got drawn into the day long episodes of "Little People, Big World." I watched it until 9pm getting up only to throw in another load of clothes or getting something for C.) A little after 9 pm, I made C a batch of rice krispy treats...we figured that it may be the last time we can feed these kiddos any type of 'sugary' substance. We went to bed, but sleep (for C) was short lived because she was having a hard time breathing (the baby boy has his bum right under her rib cage).

It was long-winded, but that was our weekend.

  • Friday - Picked up L and went to dinner.

Saturday - I took the kids to sports class, to Costco, and played outside for a bit. After nap we did some arts and crafts, made pizza, and played Wii. I had a horrible cold and felt sorry for myself that I don't get to rest when I am sick (L still can't take care of the kids.)

Sunday - Carter was up at 5:30.  I felt better and less sorry for myself.  I took the kids to breakfast and the grocery store. After their nap our friends/former sitter came over to play with the kids while I did some chores around the house. Took them out to a dinner and then watched the Golden Globes.

Monday - Carter was up at 5:55.  I felt horrible again (and sorry for myself.)  I tried to take the kids to open play at Jump Zone. Got there and the line was around the corner. I knew it was going to be a hazard in there. After tears, I talked them into going to my gym to play (they have a huge play area.) Got there and found out that childcare was full (this has never happened to us!) More tears. Came home to play outside - which was nice until Carter fell into a huge mud puddle.  We took a long nap and then got mobilized to go to the grocery store - until we realized that the van tire was flat.  AAA changed it - but it was too late to do anything. I was uber- bitchy and put the kids to early.

I stayed home sick today - but still had to get up (Carter was up at 5am AGAIN!) and take the kids to school.  Then I had to take the car to get a new tire - which ended up to be a 3 hour debacle. Sigh.

  • We had a very relaxing weekend. Saturday we visited my parents and went to see my best friend from college in his very first house. Unfortunately, burglars had totally ransacked his place the evening before stealing nearly everything, even his clothes! But we had a good time cheering him up.

We spent the rest of the weekend reconnecting, cooking and hanging out being PMSy together.
