Alisha - fair trade bananas

I just got back from grocery shopping and overheard one of the produce guys talking about fair trade organic bananas.  Every shipment they get comes from a different farmer and they have little brochure type things about that week's farmer.  Here is the website.  I haven't had time to check it out so I'm not sure if it has where to buy info but I thought you might be interested.

Re: Alisha - fair trade bananas

  • Our co-op carries fair trade organic bananas. I was ecstatic. I won't be ecstatic if my hopes and dreams are again shattered, though  :P
  • Oh that's great! I love how they have info on the individual farmers.

Its funny, I'm so used to not eating tropical fruit that the idea of having a banana seems really weird to me.

Now if I could get fair trade apple bananas, I'd dance for joy! But these are awesome!

They have other products too, like sugar. I wish I could figure out where they sell in my area! I'd like to check it out.
