Oh. Yeah. Makes perfect sense.

"Monique, who came away with the best supporting actress trophy, hasbeen public about her dislike of shaving for years telling BarbaraWalters on "The View" in 2006, "I must show America what a real leglooks like . . . because it's too much in the morning, every morning,to shave, to cut, you got Band-aids baby," reported the NY Daily News."

If shaving is that difficult, you're doing something wrong.

  • She could pay for laser hair removal. It's not like the woman is hurting for money.

  • To each his/her own.  But I don't see a big inconvenience with shaving every other day or even twice a week.

She can shave or not shave.  But she's gotta know showing her legs off like that is going to spark questions and such.

  • Meh, if she wants to spend the rest of her life explaining to people her lack of shaved parts, let her.  She looks at it every day.  Not me.

Exactly. If she cuts herself up that much she's doing it wrong. Or needs some good razors or something. My skin is rediculously sensitive and am still able to shave. Unfortunately just have to pay a little extra for "good" razors.

  • I would rather sleep an extra 5 minutes than shave my legs. But then again, I can go a week and you can't tell by looking at my legs. Being blonde has it's advantages.

  • I'm with Monique on this one. Shaving is a giant pain in the ass, and if I never have to do it again, I'll be perfectly happy.

Adult humans have leg hair. I don't know why this should be so appalling to us. I thought it was weird she broke them out at the GGs - I mean, she's not there to get an award for not shaving, is she? No. Not an appropriate venue - but I don't think it's weird that she doesn't shave.

We didn't even start shaving until well into the 20th century, anyway, so this is a fairly new convention. I don't understand the condemnation.
