Took the Praxis II last wknd

Holy crap, can there be any more random questions gathered in one test?!? It was crazy!! Get my results in a few weeks, hope I passed. There's no way I could have studied for that?image

Re: Took the Praxis II last wknd

  • I found the teacher exams (in MA at least) to be quite similar. I like to consider myself quite well versed in my discipline but the subject test I took was extremely difficult- very random bits and pieces pulled out of it that (I think) few people would remember on a given day, as opposed to the more important principles and movements, etc.

    Good luck. ;)

  • I won't even begin to tell you what we went through in NH for experienced, tenured teachers to NOT have to take that test.  Random questions are right!!  And it's sooo true that you can't even study for a test like that.  I am sure you did fine!!!  I, on the other hand, would.have.failed.  I teach 2nd grade.  And have for years.  I don't half the crap on that test because I don't need to and don't focus on it.  I was sooo relieved I didn't have to take it.  However, if I let my cert. lapse (because, say for example, I resigned my position to stay home or go to another career), and then decided later I wanted to teach again, I would have to take it.  Reason enough to keep up my certification pretty much forever!!

Let us know how you do when you find out - I'm rooting for you!!

  • I hope you passed too - let us know - GL!
  • Ditto to everything Amye said!? I would never have passed that and luckily a way around it was found for those of us already teaching.? Good luck with your results, I bet you did great!!
