ive never dyed my own hair before (aside form hilights), and have only had it fully colored at a salon once. Unfortunately salon color is no longer in my budget, so please recommend your fav products.

Re: please recommend your...

  • I always use Garnier Nutrisse (green box) when I do it at home, usually a reddish brown color I can't recall the name of. I like the conditioner and fruit extract additives that come with it.
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • I use the cheapest of the cheap, and my hair's not totally damaged. You can usually find it for $3 most places.

  • Why are you attempting to dye your hair?

I think it's gorgeous the way it is!  I like your natural (I think it's your natural), color!

  • I second (and LOVE) Garnier Nutrisse. And I'm totally okay admitting I only bought it (the first time) because Sarah Jessica Parker was in the commercials. But, I loved the results and never used another brand again.

(Previously, I'd used Revlon and Loreal)

aww thanks! well actually i do like my natural color for the most part (wouldnt want to change it drastically). It is what i'd call a dark ash brown, so it can be kind of blahh. I think id like to keep it dark brown, but warm it up a bit, maybe make it a richer, more chocolatey brown.

But actually the main motivation for my coloring is that i am developing a small Stacy London-esque gray streak on the under layers of my hair, and it is starting to show when i wear my hair certian ways. eww.

  • Your natural color is beautiful. I wouldn't change it!

  • I am no help here. I'm just wondering if you wouldn't mind donating your cheekbones for my cheekbone transplant? THANKS!
  • I just used Feria a month or so ago to change mine from a dark flat brown to have more auburn highlights and really liked it.  I would have a pic but had to have my computer reformatted so they are gone.
  • First of all, you are like SO HOT and beautiful.

Second of all, don't dye your hair.

Third of all, I only cover my grays at home, so I am of no help :)

  • I have no suggestions because I do not dye my hair, but I just wanted to say you are gorgeous!
