This whole evil pit bull thing...

Is true.

Because my pittie is afraid of water and rain. And when it's pouring, the backyard is flooded, clearly she can't be going to the bathroom. So she waits until the rain stops at 1 am, wakes me up, and then ensures that she finds a place outside that is sufficiently dry to take her crap and pee.

I suppose I should be happy that she didn't do it inside, but 1 am. And then I had to get up at 3 am and 5 am for my own peeing.

Re: This whole evil pit bull thing...

  • Tilly is afraid of the big water dish. It has a large bottle attached to keep it full and it bubbled at her once. She now only drinks from it with as much of her body as far away from it as she can manage.

    So, so vicious.

  • Pmeg, you need to tell your dog to coordinate her nighttime peeing with your's.
  • Herbert isn't so much afraid of water as terribly confused by it. She's learned that if I have to stand outside in a downpour I'm not also cleaning pee off the floor, so I don't let her in until she goes.

Toby must be part pittie, because he does the same damn thing.

  • Other things that she is afraid of:

-the bathroom. If DH and I are getting ready she'll stand near the doorway but hates coming in.

-the washer. It's pretty quiet but on the off chance it makes more noise than usual she'll go and growl at it.

-if her toys go near her food or water dish. I threw a ball once and it landed next to her water dish. She waited until the other dog got the ball and then snatched it away from her.

    -umbrellas

    -vaccuums

She's part priss, part wuss. I love her though. The jacked up part is that since she didn't sleep through the night, she's now laying in the sun passed out and snorting.

  • I blame Dawg's pitty-half for being afraid of tile/linolium.

    it's apparently made of LAVA.

  • Oh, and getting your paws wiped off after coming inside from a muddy backyard? Akin to rape. I'm apparently an evil rapist dog mom for doing that based on the look she gave me.
  • Yes! Even the Corgis agree that paw wiping is rape.

Also, making th em stay out in the backyard for the little bit of sun we will have over the next 3 days=neglect. But they were so happy I didn't make them go out in the rain yesterday.
