Just had a small heart attack...

So since we got the video baby monitor I rarely go into DD's room to check on her when she is asleep.  Whenever she sleeps longer than an hour when she has a nap I like to check on her through the monitor.  Well I just did that and she wasn't there!  I freaked.  She has started pulling herself up to standing in her crib and I had heard a thump a while ago and assumed it was the cat jumping off a bookshelf or something so when I don't see her in her crib I thought "Oh My GOD she climbed out of bed and hit her head or something." I go running into her room and find her sound asleep in her crib.  Turns out there is a small corner of her crib that the camera doesn't see and she had wiggled her way into it and was curled up in a little ball.  I am still shaking a little.  She freaked me out!

Re: Just had a small heart attack...

  • Glad she is okay! This story is even more hilarious because of your current siggy pic!
  • DD almost ALWAYS sleeps in the section of her crib that I can't see in the monitor.  Drive me nuts.  Sometimes I can see a bit of her foot or so, but she loves to curl up in that little corner that I can't see.  It is like she KNOWS she is being watched!
  • Sorry you are shakey, but I laughed.  How cute!

My friend's mom was watching her baby before they knew he could roll over.  She put him in the middle of the floor in the living room, went to the kitchen to get her already poured glass of water, came back and he was gone.  She ran around the house checking doors, looking for cars, ripped the room apart before she realized he was under the table admiring the wood pattern.

That's when they realized he had figured out rolling over.

  • glad it's all okay!
  • I will admit it was pretty funny once I calmed down.  It was made even more funny because when she woke up she was giggling when I went to get her.  She had her covers pulled up over face playing peak.

  • DD does this all the time! Scares me each time, too!
