Reusable DIY TV Dinner Trays?

Okay, I'm a lurker.  But I have a question that I don't think has been asked lately ... at least I can't find it.

I want to start making-ahead "tv dinners" for DH and I, keeping them in the deep freeze, so that he can just grab one on the way to work.  Something precooked that just needs defrosted and warmed up.  But I can't figure out what to put them in.

I don't want to microwave plastic containers - and DH won't, so that's definitely out.  You can't put metal containers in the microwave.  Paper seems so wasteful.

Any other suggestions?  I'm at a loss ...

Re: Reusable DIY TV Dinner Trays?

  • Glass - Pyrex, Kinetic Glasslock, glass Snapware, Frigoverre, Corningware, Anchor Hocking and I think Rubbermaid has a new glass container.

Available at BB&B, Target, Wal-mart, Crate & Barrel, HomeGoods, TJMaxx, Marshalls, etc.

  • Glass!!  Why didn't I think of that?  I feel so stupid, but what an easy and excellent solution!

    Thank you.
