The other grandma
My dad's mom is a loon. She's always been absent-minded.
My dad's told stories of when he was a kid (the runt of six kids, most of which were a lot older than him) and the family would disappear for hours at a time because they'd forgotten to take him with them to go to church/shopping/to the park/etc. Like he was in the 1960s version of Home Alone.
He'd just go about his day, making himself food, picking up his toys.
My grandma still comments on how quiet he always was as a child. To which he replies, "Quiet? I wasn't quiet. I just wasn't THERE."
