Rave: Children's Book of the Month Club
Hey gals...
I just wanted to recommend this: http://www.cbomc.com/
I got over $100 worth of brand new books for Libby for $30. And I only have to but 2 more over the next 2 years to "fulfill my commitment." And the don't just automatically send books (which other clubs do). Anyway, I think it's a pretty great deal.
Re: Rave: Children's Book of the Month Club
They actually do send books automatically. I signed up for my niece awhile ago. You just have to make sure you log in at least once/month to decline the selection if you don't want it, otherwise it WILL be shipped. I think you can probably ship it back, but since mine goes directly to my niece, I never see it. Just set a reminder on your calendar to check it every other week or so, just so you can accept or decline the featured selection!
PS - this worked well for me because I had it on my Outlook calendar at work. However, during maternity leave, since I wasn't on my Outlook very often, I missed at least one, maybe 2, and they got sent out.
Hm, weird. I just received my books and paperwork yesterday and it specifically says, "we'll never automatically send books that you do not request." Then it says I will receive a monthly mailing and if I want the "featured selection" I need to check the box. If I don't check the box it won't be sent automatically. This is the opposite of other book/cd clubs I have participated with in the past.

That's interesting. I do all mine online, so maybe with the one that comes in the mail, that's the way it works? Good for them (and you LOL) if this is the way they do it!
My niece has loved all the books - and her mom says they are really nice and sturdy, nothing cheaply made or anything.
