Shampoo Free and No 'Poo users
I have been using it for about 3 or 4 months now.
My hair is ok... It never got super oily. I am dedicated to making it work, but I am getting frustrated... first, it seems that my hair is super dry. I will try cutting down on the Baking Soda. Second, my scalp seems really itchy... which it never used to be.
Any thoughts?
Re: Shampoo Free and No 'Poo users
I stopped using shampoo months ago and was only using conditioner. Then I tried the baking soda to 'wash' my hair and ended up having the same problem as you.. itchy scalp. I went back to only using the conditioner and my scalp was still itchy. I just switched to Naked Naturals shampoo and conditioner and I love it so far. I barely even need conditioner because the shampoo is amazing.
It's sulfate, paraben, and pthalate free so, even though it's still got 'stuff' in it I feel better about using it. And, you hardly need to use any to make it work.
after about three months of no-poo (bs scrub and acv rinse), i started noticing itchiness paired with some dandruff.
i bought some tea tree oil, and started adding four drops to the bs paste. it's working great for me. i scrub it into my hair like normal, but then let it sit a little while longer before rinsing it out. my head tingles a little in the moment, but it's drastically reduced the dandruff and no more itching. i'm not too fond of the scent of the oil, but i can't smell it on my hair after i rinse.
I do conditioner only.
I don't have itchiness but I definitely have some scaly skin/dandruff. I attribute it to my scalp not being scrubbed at and exfoliated as much since I "wash" my hair much less often. If I make an effort to comb and scratch/massage my scalp every night, it goes away.
Thanks! I'll give this a try before just giving up. I also don't like the scent of tea tree oil (actually thought I was the only one), and I look forward to keeping this going. If not, I'll try one of the shampoos!

I either use only conditioner, or use Deva no-poo and condish. I use a sulfate free shampoo every couple of weeks or so to remove product buildup.
My hair is never dry or frizzy anymore. I tried baking soda, and found it too drying. I add it to the co-wash sometimes.
I tried using tea tree oil but it just made my hair really greasy - I only used a little and rinsed my hair really well after. Maybe it was just me...I should try it again but I don't want to have greasy hair like that again.
This is really good to know to. Thanks to everyone. I am glad that I am not the only one
