Last Name Order?

Hi,

What is the order of last names when you hypen? I want to keep my maiden name but hypen my husbands. Anyone have an idea how this works.

Thank you

Re: Last Name Order?

  • I usually see it "maiden name - new last name"
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • I kept my maiden and took my married but I didn't hyphenate. I travel a lot and many of the online ticketing systems don't accept hyphens when you book. So I just did a space so it's Melissa Maiden Married.

  • Hi Melissa,

Is your maiden name your middle name now?  A friend of mine told me she had to do that because she was told she could not have two last names. I like how you have yours last name.

Nope. I kept my middle name and my legal last name is both words. So it's Melissa Ann Maiden Last. My credit cards, driver's license, everything have the two last names. It also made things a little easier when I had something I hadn't changed since my maiden was still part of my name.

    Does that make any sense?
