One thing I will miss about all the traveling

I got a taste of the good life. I had status. I got upgraded. I got free flights.

My airline status is still good for 2010, but after that...sayonara. There is no way I'll travel enough this year to qualify for 2011.

So no more first class with meals and free drinks. No more drink coupons for getting yet another free flight. No more priority checkin and priority boarding lanes at security.

I am hoping to travel enough this year to get the status. I have a feeling I won't make it because once I move to TX, I'll only be using the corporate jet. They have commuter flights between some of their locations but not between TX and PA - which is why they've been letting me fly commercial.

H was supposed to lose his status at the beginning of this year, but United still has him listed as 1K. Apparently their record keeping isn't as good as they want you to think it is.

I thought this would happen to me after 1/1 since I didn't fly enough last year, but they haven't downgraded my status yet.  Maybe they'll be equally lax with you?  Here's hoping.

I've heard the corporate jet is pretty cool, but haven't had the pleasure yet. The food is supposed to be good too. I'm going to try and talk my boss into letting me visit him at headquarters sometime after I move.
