Sweet Basil Thai

For those of you who say you like this place, what do you order there?  DH is always wanting to go there, and the last time I had Thai food (Not at Sweet Basil), my mouth burned for 2 days.  I couldn't taste the flavor for the burning!

So what should I order?  What are your favorite dishes there?

Re: Sweet Basil Thai

  • If its the one in Charleston, we've been twice already. The Pad Thai is to die for. (They fly in the noodles). The Spring Rolls are really good. My DH got the dumpling soup the last time. He's gotten the spicy duck dish as well. And I've gotten some dish, it has a weird name but its all veggies. I forgot what he got the last time as his meal but I want to say he got a chicken dish. The soup is enough to share with the whole table. They give you rice to share. The drinks are good too. Haven't had dessert yet from there tho.

If you don't like spicy, there are alot of dishes there that aren't spicy. They will explain them to you.

  • The Sweet Basil in Greenville is not my favorite Thai place (on Woodruff Road...I think there's another one somewhere else).

I usually get red curry (or panang curry). I LOVE it, and I didn't think I liked curry for the longest time. Every Thai place I've tried around here has asked how spicy I want it (I usually do medium). DH is not adventurous and can't do anything spicy...he always gets fried rice with no spiciness at all or pad thai.

Chef's Secret in Easley on 123 is actually really good.

There is one on Highway 14 that we drive by after church usually.  that's the one I was thinking of.

  • That's definitely not the one I've been to then. I LOVE Thai food though, so maybe I'll have to check that place out. Enjoy!
