It's not a bridge

but someone's building me a wall.  The wall's going up between my desk and the offices down the hall.  I *must* leave for lunch.  There's no doubt I very well may stab someone in the eye if I can't escape the drilling, hammering, sawing, screwing/nailing and general hard rock radio coming from the other side of the drywall.

Re: It's not a bridge

  • I have not-so-fond memories of that from my old job. They stuck me in a converted closet while the rebuilt the lobby. The noise, dust and everything drove me nuts.
  • There is no construction here, but eye stabbing is likely to occur in my future. The Red Dragon rears her ugly head once more.

  • they are taking apart our offices - and have been for the last month. We're all moving to another floor, and they're planning to rent out part of the building, so they're taking everything out - walls, cubicles, cabinets, etc.

I went in one day and was in the middle of a construction zone. I heard they wanted my fancy cube (I have a 'shower door"). So I told the guys if they got me boxes and moved my stuff, I'd leave and work from home until after they were done. I was on a business trip last week, so it wasn't a big deal. They told us not to come in the last 2 days because they were moving us. I'll stop by sometime next week and unpack.
