A little NFL Help? :)

Hi guys,

I'm not a regular poster on this board, but you guys seemed like the best place to come for this info!

My DH is turning 30 in September '10....and he's not taking it well. I'd like to get him tickets to an NFL game for the Fall of 2010, to take his mind off of it a bit... (I'm asking now because I'm starting to bank the cash for this endeavor! LOL)

1. When / where can I find the NFL schedule for 2010? The team I buy him tickets for will kind of depend on who's playing who. (We're close to Baltimore and Philly....and I have family in Pittsburgh. So they're all options at this point)

2. What's my best strategy for buying tickets? Something like stubhub? I don't know anyone with tickets, so that route is out...I'd like to get him decent seats for a decent price from a quality vendor, though.

Re: A little NFL Help? :)

  • 1. Go to nfl.com in April. You may want to start googling in March to see what the definitive date is for when they'll announce the schedule. From there they might either include when season and individual tickets would be available, or you can check each team's individual website to find out. I think individual tickets are usually available sometime in the summer, but I'm not positive.

    2. Start with trying to get tickets through whoever the stadium contracts with (eg, Ticketmaster, you'll find them on the individual team websites). Depending on the popularity of the team, it might be doable when they first become available. If not, stubhub or the like is probably your best idea. You might also want to get family involved. If they know anyone who has tickets or knows a good way to get them, you can work through them to get tickets. I've gotten tickets just by mentioning a need to friends who knew a good source.

    Good luck.

  • I know the teams already know who their opponents are for the 2010 season, that has been announced, but I don't believe the dates and times have been decided yet. As another poster suggested go to nfl.com and check with it regulary. You might want to go to the Baltimore Ravens or Philadelphia Eagles websites for ticket information. By the way, even though I am a Titans fans I respect both of those teams. They have good fanbases and if you could get your man tickets for a game like Baltimore vs Pittsburgh or the Eagles vs the Giants or Cowboys, I think he would really enjoy that. Good luck.
