I got her out of the car yesterday and was carrying her carrier inside when I slipped on ice and fell outside the ILs' house.
Somehow, someway, while my feet were flying up over my head, I gently set her carrier down on the sidewalk. Both MIL and FIL saw the whole thing and asked me how I did that. She was unphased by it all.
I twisted my right ankle, landed on my left butt cheek, and skinned up my right wrist, but I'm ok. My ankle doesn't hurt today and nothing else is sore.
The thing is, FIL tried to take DD's carrier out of my hands and I insisted on carrying her (The man walks with a freaking cane due to a broken back years ago. His legs randomly give out on him and I've seen him fall several times. Like I want him carrying her on ice?). Yet *I* was the one who fell. I felt pretty dumb.
DH chewed his dad out for not having salt down on the walkways though. He said "you aren't *that* sick that you can't throw salt." His dad agreed. DH = cold, dead heart.
Re: I fell yesterday with DD
Ha! I should have. There were people walking out of their house across the street who saw it as well.
I'm really ok.
So glad you both are ok. Be sure to take it easy and take care of yourself.

The exact same thing happened with Autumn when she was a baby. Except it was a hole in the ground, not ice. I just sat her down but I busted my ass.
Glad she's ok and you aren't too hurt.
I'm glad you're both okay!
Be glad she's still pre-verbal. My mom slipped while carrying me when I was 2-1/2, and for the next week or so I told anyone who would listen "Mommy dropped me!"
