Stents vs. Open Heart

I have had both and belive me that is excellent news for your FIL. Tell him to make sure he listens to the Dr. about laying flat afterwards. I have a bad problem with blood clotting after and both times have develped HUGE hemotomas that they have to literally get on top of me with sand bags and push. The morphine can't touch that pain so if he can avoid that he'll be great. Other than that after stents I felt perfectly normal no recovery. On the other hand open heart is as bad as it sounds. I still have pain from the wire holding me together on rainy days, like today.
