I had so much fun last night. Who knew I actually do know how to smile?!?
I had a mini reuinion with a couple of chicks i went to middle school with. one i already see regularly, but another came out after she and the other chick ran into each other in a supermarket. i swear if you put a picture of us next to a picture of our 14 year old selves, maybe only our hair is slightly different.
we decided to go to a restaurant that is owned by another friend who we went to middle school with. he's the owner and chef at a local restaurant. what a pretty place. expensive, but pretty. his sis and my sis are BFFs, so sis told me the food is pretty good there.
i showed up first at 7pm and ordered a glass of wine. then when the other 2 showed up, they also got their drinks. chef friend came out and saw us, and we all hugged and said hello. he set up a fancy private table for us near the best window.
we couldn't decide on what to order, so he said he'll just make some different things for us and send it out. we had a 5-course dinner with dessert. he made a few different entrees for us to share, but we were so full by then. i was so sick when i got home between the wine, food and cappucinos.
we were the only ones in the place after 8pm. it was really nice. and Jersey Shore was on the TVs over the bar. that was hilarious.
I GOT HOME AT 11pm!!! I couldn't believe how late I stayed out. We could have even gone later, but I wanted to get some sleep (which never happened - i fell out at 2am.)
chef friend treated us to our dinner, so we left a hefty tip for the waiter and paid for our drinks. he even sat with us during dessert to BS.
i highly recommend FaceBook for these sorts of things. we all used to hang out until age 16, and it was really nice to see success so many years later.

i did have fun. i like knowing i have IRL people within 4 minutes of where i now live (yep, it took me 4 minutes to get there - i showed up early so i bought some scratch off tickets).
but i can't drink. 1.5 glasses of wine and you'd thought i was out partying al night.
