i've been spending my work afternoon consipiring with my sis on what to wear to an interview next week! i got a random call today from a local company who saw my resume online and is interested in me for a full time design opening they have starting sometime next month. I am going in next Thurs to meet with the guy and learn more! I'm not sure yet if this is good fit for me yet, but i will prepare regardless! hey its worth a shot - i could use more $$ for my upcoming mortgage after all :)i haven't interviewed in 4 years...any tips??

Re: interview next week!
::job dust::!
I also haven't interviewed for four years, but when DH has an interview we'll do a mock interview the night before. It seems to help him.

So awesome!! YAY! Go Megs, best of luck!!
I have interviewed a few people in my time. Be prepared to talk about your strengths and weaknesses, where you could use improvement, why you'd be good for the job and try to remember to project a humble confidence!!
Go MEGS!!!!
Oh congrats, so fun! Good luck!
My interviews have always been fairly non-traditional so I can't really give you a lot of ideas. I always go in with a list of questions that I want to ask the company. Just be yourself and try not to be nervous. If you're stumped for an answer, don't feel bad taking a deep breath and organizing your thoughts before spitting something out!
Oh and remember to pee before you go in...I know that sounds weird but sometimes nerves make you have to pee...and sometimes interviews can be long...so best to be as comfortable as possible so you're not distracted by your bladder!
Good luck!
They are doing a lot of behavioral based interviewing now. If they list competencies in the job description (i.e. leadership, organizational effectiveness, adaptability) I would write down examples from your work history where you have demonstrated those things. They might ask you... Tell me about a time when such and such happened, how did you react to it, and what was the end result. Those questions are soooooo much easier if you are prepared with maybe 10 examples in mind that you can fit into the question they are asking.
