Do you get a newspaper delivered?

(I feel like I am officially the girl who comes here and asks boring questions- sorry.)

I am really curious about this though- we have a subscription for only Thursday and Sunday. It used to be Saturday/Sunday, but the paper changed their offers. We are considering getting rid of the paper altogether though, as all we use it for are coupons, and we can get an "early bird" on Saturday for $1 that includes all the Sunday inserts.

We randomly had a small local paper call us about five times recently, trying to get us to subscribe. It would be like someone who gets the New York Times adding on the Newark Bugle- just useless. I feel bad for the small local paper but... it is a waste of resources, really.

Re: Do you get a newspaper delivered?

  • We used to get the paper when we were on our own, but we NEVER read it. And honestly sometimes it never even made it off the step and I would just pick it up when I was taking the recycling out. I finally canceled it because it was a huge waste of money and I read it online anyway.

My ILs get the paper, but I think that's a waste too because it doesn't usually make it off the driveway...

  • We only get it on Sundays...it has all the ads and extra sections.

  • I chose reading it online.

BUT, when I am at work I read the USA Today because it's free and concise.

My IL's get the paper every day and save me the baby coupons from Sunday's paper.

DH used to get the Wall St Journal, but it sat unread for lack of time.  We no longer subscribe.

OH, and you do not ask boring questions!!  I like your input, and and sometimes wonder those things myself!

Ditto. I love my sunday couponing days.

Kaytie - we miss you and you do not ask boring questions!

  • No paper delivery here.  If we did it would be Sundays only though.
  • Interesting, interesting... btw we had about $3 of useful coupons this week, which justifies the expense of the paper to Michael- but they almost equal each other out, which bothers me.

Regardless, thank you for the kind thoughts and feedback!

Oh- and I have another boring post above. Wink

  • DH get's the WSJ delivered every day and he brings it to work and actually reads it.  Last year we signed up for the NYT for Sat/Sun only but I kind of feel like it's a waste.  I enjoy reading it but half the time it doesn't even get openened.  Theres a lot going on and we don't get much time to sit and read the paper unfortunately.
