Southside Thrift Stores?

Any recs for thrift stores on the southside?  I'm not finding much here on the peninsula.  I'm really looking for a chandelier for our office to spray paint.

And if someone knows of a good one on the Peninsula, by all means let me know.  I would love to find one cheap.

I'm probably going to check the habitat re-store also.

Re: Southside Thrift Stores?

  • For a chandelier, re-store probably your best bet on the peninsula.

The ones on the peninsula good for kitschy dishes & I've found a few decent vintage purses too. I've found some interesting things at Village Thrift on Warwick Blvd. (across from Hidenwood Shopping Center near CNU), but not much in the way of lighting. We've purchased a few oil paintings from them. Occasionally, you'll see evidence of someone getting rid of estate leftovers there (lots of very nice things appearing all at once - fur coats, designer suits, wedgewood dish sets, paintings, etc.)

  • Sometimes I hit up Family Thrift on Mercury Blvd. It's not too far up from Tommy's Restaurant.

  • Virginia Beach Blvd. is a thrift store heaven - there's a DAV, Goodwill and CHKD within a 5-mile stretch.  There are also CHKD stores near Lynnhaven Mall and on Battlefield in Chesapeake.
