number codes on fruit/veggies
just learned something!
maybe you already know this but I didn't so I thought I'd share.
I watched this video
the woman says the codes on fruit mean the following:
a 4 digit code that starts with a 4 is a "normal fruit"
a 4 digit code that starts with a 3 is conventionally grown and irradiated
a 5 digit code that starts with an 8 is GMO
a 5 digit code that starts with a 9 is organic
I just looked at fruit/veggies that I had in the house and it's true! I have an organic delicata squash and it has a 9, and I have a meyer lemon it has a 4.
