health insurance rec's

Hi girls---

I'm thinking of finally breaking it off with my crappy company and their health insurance that I've been paying $200/month for awhile (they used to pay 100% of it, then cut it down to 50, now we're responsible for paying all of it if we want to keep it).

soooo i'm wondering if anyone has any good rec's for reasonably afforadable health coverage, like under $150/month, with brand prescription cvg and some office visits. (ideally-, 100-125/month but that's wishful thinkin)

Any ideas?? Thanks!!!!

Re: health insurance rec's

  • I'm on my husband's plan now (Cigna, meh) but I used to have HealthNet.  I liked them in terms of coverage and doctors but I believe they were more than you want to pay.  So, don't go for that one.
  • do you mean going on an individual plan?  I think finding one for less than $200/month would be difficult and they have the right to deny you coverage based on your health history as well as jack your monthly rates if you have any significant (or not so significant) health issues during your plan year.

Additionaly, the out of pocket costs tend to be higher when you have smaller montly premiums.
