Boo Monday!

Ugh...such crappy weather.  295 was horrible...I couldn't see a thing!  I had tractor trailers whizzing by me kicking up mist and tossing my car all over the place.  Not to mention the fact that I couldn't see lines for the life of me.

My back is already giving me problems, so I have a feeling I won't be here all day.  I strained it on Thursday night packing up boxes to put in storage.  It was fine the rest of the weekend, but of course it's tight today.

H and I went to Chifa last night for Restaurant Week and it was fabulous.  I definitely recommend it!  We just made reservations at XIX for Friday.  It looks super fancy :)

Pretty excited because the Granite Transformations guy is coming out today for a countertop consultation.  I'll make a post tomorrow and let you all know how it goes.

Re: Boo Monday!

  • Izzy: Definetly let us know how the granite transformations consult goes...I'm curious of the price difference.

This weather stinks...especially on a Monday!!  I wanna curl back up in bed...I feel like I can't get enough sleep anymore. I'm exhausted all the time!

This weekend went way too fast, we didn't do much.  Friday night we stayed in and had Chinese food which we haven't had it over a year (YUMMY!!). Saturday we ran around, I had to buy new sneakers after our dog thought it would be a good idea to eat the back off my other pair ;(  and Sunday we want to my in laws house for dinner and football.  Nothing exciting, but very relaxing which was nice

  • oooh, i am excited to hear about your kitchen consult!

i am in mourning over the viking loss.  i may just stay in bed all day and cry.  i just want to hug brett favre!

dh and i looked at 8 houses in medford over the weekend.  we like 3 of them and will be putting our house on the market in the next month.  sooooo excited about this!

  • I feel like poop today.  I have a sore scratchy throat and an annoying cough.  The weather is tangent with my mood.

On Friday I layed on the couch and felt awful.  On Saturday we ran some errands, I made two loaves of bread, then I layed in bed and felt awful.  On Sunday we ran one errand, went over to MILs and then I went to be and felt awful.

  • hahaha natalie!  We are long lost twins!  I slept alot and laid around alot this weekend.  I don't have the scratchy sore throat though.  I have these ridiculous stabbing headaches, ridiculously painful, sniffles and cold sweats.

Shari and Kristen-good luck with the house hunt and house selling!  very exciting!!!

  • I hate how people forget how to drive when it rains. It was a long commute in...

Today is my day of eating. Le Bec Fin for lunch and then La Famiglia for dinner. Love rest. week prices!!! (Izzy - XIX is SOOOO good!)

We had a very productive weekend. We designed our kitchen at IKEA and are happy with the results, but we're going to price out cabinets and such at Lowe's since DH gets a major discount. I think we'll end up going with Lowe's because it's real wood, and the price will be comprable to IKEA. I can't wait to start the renovation. So exciting!

  • Oh - and... my parents are moving to Maryland today. Sad face.
  • Mondays really do suck! I am so tired - stayed up for the game last night, then Jack started making noise around 4:45. Thankfully he went back to sleep until 5:20. I can't wait until he starts sleeping later.

We had a nice, relaxing weekend. Friday night we had sushi and wine, and watched "Into the Wild". Saturday I had a facial, then haircut and color. Then we just hung out with Jack, and went to a local restaurant for dinner and martinis. Sunday I went to Canals and bought a case of wine - I'm tired of buying 2 bottles of wine every weekend. So now my wine fridge is fully stocked! Then we just relaxed and got stuff done around the house. I made lamb chops for dinner last night - yum.

  • I hope everyone feels better!!

Izzy - anxious to hear about granite transformations.

  • Sick here too.  I am on the tail end of a nasty cold and Jack woke up this morning with a stuffy nose.  I feel horrible for him.  I had hand sanitizer strapped to my waist for the past week out of fear of him getting sick and have barely held him.  This sucks.

I have a class for selling the NJ Lottery at our shop on Wednesday.  It is in Trenton and 5 hours.  I don't feel like going at all.

This weekend was relaxing for us, even with me being sick.  We watched The Hurt Locker Friday night, Public Enemies Saturday night, and football all day yesterday.

  • So sad the weekend is over.  DH and I finally saw Avatar after trying 3 times only to be told it was sold out.  We ended up going at 10:45 yesterday and it was still sold out.  When are people going to stop going?!?!  I do have to say, it was pretty good.

I'm so glad that I decided to take today off last week.  Just hearing the rain and wind outside the window makes me miserable.  I hope it ends soon because it's supposed to be warm outside.

  • What a shittastic welcome back from Hawaii! I guess I should be happy it's warm and all this rain isn't snow?

What did I miss all week?

My birthday was yesterday so H treated me to Cracker Barrel for lunch (I know, we're fancy) and then to some maternity shopping! Then my parents made me my first home-cooked meal in a week+. It was good to be home.

Good luck with all the house renos, sellings, etc., ladies!

  • Happy Belated Birthday, kapow!

You really didn't miss much. It was a slow week.

    Tell us about Hawaii....

    Tell us about Hawaii....

Thanks!  We were on Kauai this year (my company puts on a meeting every year, different island) and it really was beautiful. It was the first time I had a chance to really get out and explore AND we had a car so my co-worker and I drove along the coast. Just beautiful.

I'll get around to posting some pics tonight, I hope. But, still, as much as I love Hawaii, I'd take the Caribbean any day to avoid that long flight.

  • Kat, glad you enjoyed Hawaii. I've still never been, but since I'm just a beach person I think the Caribbean does the job.

Do you have a baby bump yet?

  • Yea, unless you're a volcanoes person, I'm not sure it's worth the flight. At least not for just a week. Two, maybe.

I'm starting to get a roundness between my hips, but nothing super noticeable to the outside world. Though my normal non-baby pooch is getting more attention, but that's just people looking now that they know. I could do without the belly touching already!

  • belly touching is the worst! I had to stand with H at his dad's viewing and people I never met were touching my belly. He would just look at me and shrug, because he knew I hated it. He warned his family to stay away.

I'd love to tell you it gets better : )
