How was the weekend?
Mine was insanely busy and exhausting. Thurs. I was off work due to the ice storm because school was closed and I needed to stay with the kiddo. Friday, we got up and sent the kiddo off to school. DH and I headed out to Peoria and were there about 1pm. We hung out with his grandparents and then went and then went to p/u MIL from the hotel. We then went back to the grandparents house and everyone came over for dinner. After dinner, DH and I went out to DH's aunt's house and stayed the night.
The next morning, we were up at the ass crack of dawn. DH's aunt bought me a beautiful Longaberger bowl for my birthday. We went to the funeral, which was a really nice service. After the funeral and burial services, we jetted to get back to Indy to go to DH's work party.
The party was fun. We had a good time. We woke up yesterday and went to pick up the kiddo. We got home and did a little housework so that our house wasn't a disaster when my IL's came over to watch the Colts game (We won, YAY!!).
Now I'm just tired as hell. I think I've moved beyond exhaustion to delirium. I need some coffee to just get back to 'tired'.
Re: Mornin'!
Sounds like a good (tiring) weekend.
Longaberger huh- you know the headquarters are very, very near here. That big high rise basket is on my way to Target. DH burns their messed up baskets at work.
We didn't do much. DH put shelves in my pantry Saturday. Sunday was church.
I spent the whole weekend cleaning.
Some time ago I decided to ignore FI's office, because it drives me nuts and was putting a wedge in our relationship. Part of it is that he gets so many freaking boxes of stuff for work, and part of it is pure laziness. A bigger part is pure laziness.
Well, I couldn't stand it. I looked in there and... horror.... pure horror struck me. So Saturday while he was gone I made a huge mess trying to sort out garbage (not literal garbage, stuff that was no longer of use to him for work, but didn't need to be returned to the company) from stuff he needed. He came home, we cleaned the rest of the house as best we could (boxes EVERYWHERE) and then rested. Sunday morning we got up and really got into the room. Everything is labeled, most of which is going to the dump (which was full, creating further frustration) and then put back into the room in order so that when they empty the dump we can haul all theshit off.
I'm exhausted. It was like an episode of hoarders minus the food/rats. I was happily shocked by him repeating, "I don't need it. It's trash"
So anyway I'm exhausted today. My stomach muscles are all sore, my leg muscles, my arms. I have a huge bruise on my inner arm where a very heavy box slid out of my grasp but I'm thrilled with the progress we made.
They finally put another Sonic in Maryland, so we made a trip last night so I could satisfy my cherry limeade and tater tot craving. We have friends who live about 10 minutes away from it, so it was a chance to hang out with them also.
Other than that, the weekend was relatively quiet. Our money is finally available in the joint account we set up last weekend, so this week I'm going to get my direct deposit switched. Hopefully before the end of February everything will be completely switched over to the new bank.
WHO DATTTTTTT?????
Hee. It was a great end to a good weekend.
The weekend was meh for me and busy for H. He spent the entire weekend doing SOMETHING, and going somewhere. Even his fun activity was planned. Ha.
We did get out on Saturday night to make it to a movie at which the theater's CC machine was broken and I had paid previously. Apparently the O-faces look trustworthy because they let us through and we got the first seats in the theater. BTW-Legion is a good movie, though predictable. And Paul Bettany is HOT.
Our city also had a dart tournament which made eating out on Saturday tricky, but luckily we went to a locally owned restaurant that has better food anyway and enjoyed ourselves there.
Sunday was niece's 3rd birthday party. SIL is looking like she's ready to just give birth to her tiny baby (supposedly Joslyn was a little over 4 pounds a few weeks ago) and I feel badly for her. She just looks tired.
But it's Monday and there isn't enough coffee in the world to jump-start this week.
I spent most of Saturday working on my dissertation presentation, then we went out to dinner as a treat. I had an excellent reisling with dinner, whihc was the weekend highlight.
Sunday we watched football and discovered that my computer is broken. Again. And it appears to be the same problem as before. Frustrating machine.
