Facebook Status Etiquette
Again, this is S/O the hot topic I've seen and finally clicked on.
What should/shouldn't be included in Facebook statuses?
Re: Facebook Status Etiquette
--I love this one from the hot topic thread: "Anything to do with bowel movements. That includes children is a no no." I haven't quite got the heart to block some people who do this, but I guess this is where I fall into the MWOC category - I want to know NOTHING of your potty-training escapades or updates. Leave it at "Potty training went well today." Any further detailing should be done in private discussions.
--I'm also tired of the forwards or "C&P this into your status".
--Love-fests back and forth (this goes for couples as well as family - I am "friends" with two sisters who sit and comment back and forth on everything one another posts about how much they love one another and how blessed they are to be best friends with their sister, blah blah blah, excuse me while I vomit.)
Agreed!
Also... the love-fests? Remember the guy I posted about - he just came home from a tour of duty and I wanted to do something, but really was trying not to?
Yes... this was his first FB status once he got home: "1.Got drunk 2.Got layed 3.Won a bet with the wife. All in all a f***ing awesome night." TMI, buddy, and that decided we're not doing anything... because he's gotten worse.
Anything overly personal. I simply do not need to know when you are having sex. Seriously. I have a "friend" (ok, girl I knew in high school who was defriended this morning) who posted every time she was going to have sex.
FWIW, that girl has a LOT of sex. With a LOT of different people.

I actually did submit someone. She posted for a week straight about potty-training, including DETAILING his accidents and then taking pics of her 3 year old posing in his cute little cartoon-character undies and POSTING THEM. (I freaked because HELLO - that's online! Privacy online is altogether too skeevy to put up nearly naked pics of your baby, ESPECIALLY on Facebook where the privacy changes so often.
)
I know FB isn't supposed to be like writing an English paper but I HATE the following abbreviations:
2 for to
da for the
dat for that
wat for what
sum for some
awsum for awesome
or ones that read:
kNoWs wAt sHe wAnTs...iTs A ? oF hOw 2 gO bOuT gEtTiNg iT!!!!!!!!!
Overall, writing like that was ok in high school. You are grown ass women, high school was 10 years ago.
All of that. And using "r" or "u" for are and you.

I agree with all these. The lovefest between couples make me stabby. Once in a great while is ok. I actually defriended a girl because everyone of her statuses ended with I love you Nate, or I love you baby or some barfy degree of that. Unfriend? Don't mind if I do!
