movie review and poll

i watched "i love you, man" this weekend, and i was thinking about the bff aspect of it.  neither dh nor i have bffs -- we have friends, close friends, but no one person we would point to as The BFF.

looking around our friends (most of them are paired or married), i don't think most have a bff.  obviously, the couples are each others' bffs.

Re: movie review and poll

  • I have two BFFs, but I don't know if they feel the same way about me.

I just a friendly gal looking for options.

  • DH is my bff.

I've had a few women that i would say were bf-for a period of several or more years, but unfortunately have lost touch with them over time. My bff from 3rd - 10th grade and I just recently reconnected, and have gotten together a few times in the last year or so. She was in med school and is in DC for her residency, so I don't get to see her very often.

  • there are about 4-5 women who i used to hang out with regularly when i lived in chicago.  we see each other about once a year, sans husbands or boyfriends, for a girls' weekend.

in wonderwife parlance, these are my top tier friends.

  • I've had two BFF's - but due to completely opposite work schedules, I've mostly lost touch with one of them.  The other one is a girl I've known since we were 11, and during college we sort of lost touch, but the past two years we make plans to hang out pretty regularly. Whenever I have news, after H and my parents, I always want to tell her first.

  • DH is my BFF, too.

Both my female BFFs are far away. We don't talk too often, but when we do, we pick up right where we left off.

  • I really don't have many friends off of the internet.  I'd say my sister is my BFF.
  • H's and my BFFs married each other, which worked out well for us.

Of course, even if they weren't BFFs before, they would be now, by default: we don't have any other friends. I have you imaginary internet people, and my choir acquaintances, but no one that I actually, like, GTG with or anything.

  • Yes, I use the tier concept. DH is my BFF. Otherwise, I have 3 Tier 1 friends, 4 Tier 2 friends, and everyone else is Tier 3 or lower.

    ..
  • I have 2 bffs. FI, and female bff. I tell FI everything, and BFF everything that won't make her stomach churn. Plus, female bff and I can go shopping, whereas FI is difficult to shop with unless it's books/games/something he's totally interested in.
