can I post another crazycakes crackpot fundy parenting thing?

I blame y'all for getting me started reading some of this crap.

But, I found this yesterday.  These are people who are pro-infant spanking and who think that if your baby is crying, you ignore him (so he doesn't learn that crying = comfort)--you only pick up the baby when baby is happy.

And they like blanket training, of course.

They, of course, hve a book.  Which includes a bit on guns.  Which apparently includes:

[training child]...not to touch guns by placing an unloaded and broken gun in the living room where the children could reach it.We carefully watched them. If they touched it, we spanked their hand with a little switch. One to three switchings was sufficient to prevent the little crawlers and toddlers from ever touching a gun.

I can picture a 20Yo who cna't figure out why he pisses himself every time he sees a GI Joe.

  • that child would not survive here.  we've got military all over the place.  most of the time, they're just going to a boring meeting, but still.
