Need some San Antonio/Ft. Sam Info

A coworker of mine just got offered a position at Ft. Sam.  She's going down this weekend to meet with the agency, but knows nothing about the area.

She would like to be both close to Ft. Sam and downtown/Riverwalk area.  She'll be renting an apartment and would like to stay under $1000/month for a 2 bedroom.

Any recs or info would be appreciated and I will pass on!

Re: Need some San Antonio/Ft. Sam Info

  • I think you could find something under $1000 near Ft. Sam, but they wont be very nice. Alamo Heights & the Quarry are close by, but they are more expensive. I was working right next to Ft. Sam for a while, and I live in N. Central San Antonio, my commute was only 15 minutes. Really, as long as she is sounth of 1604, the commute is not bad to Ft. Sam.

  • This post is in the same area that you are looking in. There's not much downtown that I would recommend to be perfectly honest. And I don't care what people say, stay away from Stone Oak. :)
