Who is watching the Australian Open?

There have been some amazing matches.  Murray and Nadal are playing a really great set right now.  I just wish Australia wasn't in a semi-inconvenient-for-me time zone.

Re: Who is watching the Australian Open?

  • Oh wow, Nadal just withdrew.

Yeah, Murray was up 2 sets to 0, 3 games to 0 and Nadal just put his hand up and withdrew.

Wooow...so he and Roddick are out then. Guess Nadal's still suffering from that knee tendinitis...

I think so.  I was watching it with the German commentary which I understand, but DH came home for lunch and turned on the French commentary because he doesn't speak German and we "need to learn French" so I completely missed the reason for his withdrawal.

  • Yep--it was his knee. Tweaked it when he made a sudden stop, got treatment for it, then decided to not go on. Having bad knees and tendinitis in my ankles, I don't blame him--the risk of making it worse it too great, especially if he was going to have to come back and win three sets.

I've watched most of the coverage, but end up DVRing the midnight to 8am-ish coverage and watching throughout the day (one of the pluses of working at home). Last year, I was there for days 2 and 4, got to see some of the TV coverage on day 3, and then only a couple matches after that on TV--at least it was during normal hours.

  • I've been watching, I love it.  I can't believe how long Nadal is going to be out again.
