I bought a neti pot from Walgreens yesterday and I'm hooked.  This thing could become addicting 

Google showed me there's stages of neti-ness.  Stage 1 is what the instructions show, flow from one nostril through the other.  Has anyone ever tried Stage 2, where you sniff and flow it through your mouth?  I tempted but I think I would choke on it.

Stage 3 looks intense.  Suck in through your mouth and out your nose.  I'm definitely not brave enough for that.

The neti pot gives me a headache.  I've watched the video 20 times, but apparently I still do it wrong.

I've always done stage 2 along with stage 1. You don't really have to sniff, you just adjust the angle of your head. It does take more concentration to breathe properly though.

Just went to the doctor today for allergies. I think I just might give in and get the darn neti pot. Everybody swears by it, so it must be good!

i love my neti pot so much, i bought real ceramic ones for all my austin siblings for christmas since our allergies get so bad. it got me through cedar season last winter.

This is my first year of certifiable allergy symptoms and so far I am not loving the neti pot.  Yes, I do see that it helps with the congestion, but I also feel like it makes me feel worse overall.  That somehow it actually is making room for more allergens to move in and wreak havoc.  I woke up this morning congested so I used it, and today I have felt worse than any other day.  Itchier eyes, worse headache.
