Wait, huh, what, something WEDDING RELATED?!?!
So, I'm a bridesmaid for the first time this summer
The bridal party is throwing the bride a shower in March, but it's OOT for a lot of people (including the bride) so we want to send the invites in about one-two weeks.
The MOH is handling most of the planning. Since I'm super into scrapbooking (what, who, me?), I'm making the invites (with the help of one of the other bridesmaids/my friend). One thing we're doing is sending all the guests a recipie card and asking them to bring it and/or send it back to us with a recipie for the couple. I know the bride has a recipie box she loves, so I took pictures of it to be sure I can match the colors.
The rest of the shower doesn't really have a theme (other than, you know, "bridal shower"). So, my questions:
1) What colors should I do for the invitations? Should I match (a) the recipie box/card colors, (b) her wedding colors, or (c) just do any random colors?
2) The shower is being held at the bride's parents' house, but they aren't hosting - the bridesmaids are. How should I word the hosts?
3) Spinning off #2 - how should I word the whole invite? (Yes, google is my friend, blah blah blah, but you all claim to be bored)
I'll be sure to post pics of the invites once we get them done...so long as I get help on these three questions!
Re: Bridal Shower Invites
1. I am way to much of a matchy matchy person so I would match the recipe box with the invites to the wedding colors.
2. I would say something along the lines. The shower is being hosted by Bridesmaid X and Bridesmaid Z. Location: Bride's parents house.
1. I would prob match the colors to the cards if you don't have a theme/color to go off of.
2. I think my invites said something like, "Hosted by Keb's bridesmaids" since many people didn't know who they were
1. Match to the recipe box/cards (unless main hostess wants a particular random color scheme)
2. I like mofe's suggestion on the simple wording about the hostess/location
3. Hmm, the whole invite? Gonna need some thinking time on that.
4. Don't spell it recipie!!!!!

Leigha, I won't, I promise! I always always always triple check things like that and recipie (recipe? reicipie? GAH!) is one word I continuously trip up on.
