I found a local source for my eggs on Craigslist, she sells for $3 a dozen, which is incredibly reasonable considering I have paid $4+ for certified humane or organic eggs. I am excited!

Awesome!
We get ours right down the road; it's actually quicker to go pick them up from the farm than to run to the grocery store
Win-win!
This EXACTLY. My farmer actually took me over and introduced me to the chickens
we raise our own chickens...
...this time of year, because the days get short, many many chickens reduce or completely stop laying...
our four hens, who ordinarily produce about a dozen a week, were down to 1 or 2 a week for the longest time... they're just starting to come back.
If you're looking for a good source for eggs, call your local feed store. They sell eggs at ours (organic, free range) for a fair price... but the man there told me that even the seller's production was way off this winter...
I am the 99%.
