Newbie Here

Hey ladies, i'm new here, and i was just curious if anyone has had a House Warming Party? My husband and I just bought a house and i want to have a house warming party but i don't know where to get invites for it or wording for the invites. Any advice is needed.

Re: Newbie Here

  • First off, congratulations on your new home!

Housewarmings are often casual events. You can issue an "open house" invitation stating a date with a range of hours that guests are invited to drop by. Evites or emails are usually fine if it's casual. My brother and his wife took a picture of him carying her over the threshold and used that on the cover of a Shutterfly invitation, which was cute if you want to go the mailing invitation route.

As far as wording, either email or traditional mail, there are so many cute things to say. My brother concluded with ?Our door is always open to you!? or ?Where you will always be welcome!? Both sounded so sweet. Here are a couple samples of ways to phrase it:

When you issue invitations to this party, giving good directions will be very important. After all, this is the first time many of your family and friends will be visiting your new home.

And have something fun for everyone to sign for you to hang in your home to remind you of your special celebration. A photo album, local atractions coffee table book, a bird house or a bottle of wine would all work well.

    Congratulations again and enjoy!
