clarification- selling and parking...
DH and I are trying to sell our condo and the realtor recommended that we get a leased space. There aren't any spots right at our building but there are 2 options... covered parking for $150 2 blocks away (6 month min lease) or uncovered parking for $100 1.5 blocks away (no min lease). We would lease the parking space and then give the buyer the option to take over the leased space. If you were buying, would this make our place more attractive? We are in Lakeview... there is often parking right outside our place during the week but it is tougher to find parking on the weekends.
Re: clarification- selling and parking...
I agree - throwing in a parking space would be a great selling point, especially in Lakeview. Good luck!
We are south of belmont and a bit west of sheffield. We don't really drive much (once every 1-2 wks) so my opinion on the parking may be skewed. The only times I've really had trouble parking is on big weekends like air/water show, halloween, and really nice saturdays during the summer.... that said... we also know not to move/drive during those times so we avoid it. However it seems like a lot of buyers would like some type of parking so we were thinking of leasing and then letting them take over the lease if they wanted to pay for parking and if they don't then they could cancel. If we did the covered parking, then they would get parking until aug for sure and could decide after that.
Ready for summer!
Considering that specific area, I probably wouldn't bother paying for parking. You're not too close to the lake or Wrigley, so most days are easy breezy when it comes to parking.
