Ugh family on FB sometimes...

can go into overkill.

So, I shared a bit of TMI yesterday and posted about my bub being head up and that I'm worried because, due to my heart-shaped uterus, bub might have trouble turning back down.

I only mentioned it in context...not as a "you'll all find this interesting that I have a heart-shaped uterus..."

So, one of my friends is ribbing me about it in the replies and I start to realize that I probably overshare sometimes.

My SIL replies "Hey, why the 'hate'...I had a C-Section" etc, referring to my status message of "I hate the thought of c-section". Which, I, in turn, answered and tried to make it clear that my statement came out the wrong way.

So, my sister steps in and goes on to detail how me, her, my other sister AND my mother not only have a heart shaped uterus but a tilted one...yada yada yada...." because...well, I'm sure everyone reallllllly will find that fascinating. Ugh please just stop, I already feel goofy for oversharing.

Then she answers my SIL as if SIL asked her the question and pretty much repeats what I said anyway, except with a nice dose of overexaggeration.

I want to delete the comment but I think I'll just wait for it to go away down the page into oblivion lol....

Re: Ugh family on FB sometimes...

  • Do you want me to post random messages on your wall so it gets pushed down to the bottom and people don't see it anymore?  Hopefully out of sight, out of mind!  Smile

  • Heh, I think they got carried away and forgot that FB can be pretty public. I like Chika's idea of posting other random posts to shift the previous messages out of sight =)

  • i don't get why she took it so personally that you hate the thought of a c-section... it's not like you're passing judgment on them or anything..it's a personal choice and you're allowed to not like the idea of major surgery!

This always confuses me too. I know that I may need a c-section so I'm not against them, but I can certainly understand why it's not preferable for most people!

I like the idea of posting random messages on your wall lol.

  • Lol Chika, I see you posted a Thank ya, good start *Chuckle*. Btw you're welcome hon.

My sister went and deleted it herself last night actually, which was good. I had replied that "Pssst, sis, I don't think anyone finds that interesting lol..." as a hint. Followed by another post apologizing to anyone if I offended them re. my thoughts on C-sections etc and that it may have come out wrong and that, erm, no more TMI's either!" kind of thing.

Sis posts "Oh, ok." So, I think she's a little shitty at me lol.

Jaime and Lisa, yeah I don't think most women enjoy the thought of a C-Section. Some DO elective and want bub out through the sunroof. Birth can be such a sensitive topic that it's probably easy to offend some women by merely voicing thoughts on the topic, I guess.

I sat up and read an incredibly insightful article last night (online) about how birth needs to be humanised again and de-medicalized and what exactly is going on in the system in this day and age (WHO reports etc). If anyone feels like taking a read, let me know.
