Reusable Snack Bags

I bought some fabric and PUL yesterday for my attempt to make my own!  Before I begin, I have a few questions:

When you wash them, do you turn them inside out or just leave them the right way?

Do you wash them with your regular laundry?

DH just wants me to confirm that the PUL is foodsafe.  I think I remember reading on here (maybe it was the EFF board) that someone called the company to ask if it was ok.

Re: Reusable Snack Bags

  • I have a cloth snack bag that I use - I wash it with kitchen towels and always flip it inside out when I was it.
  • I flip to be sure all crumbs and foody bits don't get trapped inside the bag.
  • I think I remember a post about that a long time ago Fancy...good question though considering I am awaiting the arrival of my reusable snack bags that have PUL.  I did get them as I thought it was food safe...hopefully someone will have a definite answer!

I'm fairly sure they are because tons of people use them.  I'd assume if they weren't foodsafe, EF people wouldn't be putting their food in something that was bad.

  • Are you using a specific pattern to make your own? I have been wanting to make some for DH to bring his lunch in!

I've been looking at a bunch of different wetbag patterns online and I'm attempting to modify them to make my own pattern.  We'll see how they turn out !
