Birth Control: Did you know that many forms of birth control cause the baby to die shortly after conception? If we believe children are a blessing and that God will provide for the children he gives us, why do we try so hard not to have them?

  • ....sigh.

Don't get me started on this.

  • many? really? uh huh indeed.

ftr, i only know of one, and it's not abortion. an IUD can prevent a fertilized egg from implanting, but that's about it.

  • Household Management: A clean and organized house is a blessing, but an atheist can have a clean and organized house. Are we cleaning and organizing for our pleasure, convenience, and glory, or so we can accomplish more for God?s kingdom?

I don't clean for either reason given.

  • Only the copper (Paragard) IUD will do this. Mirena ceases ovulation.

  • maybe the author thinks that individual sperm are actually babies?

  • <~~ has an abortion maker in her ute.
  • JoJo, isn't a secondary function of *some* hormonal BC formulations to prevent implantation *if* it failed to prevent ovulation?

Seriously, I'm asking, because I've heard that this is the case. If so, then that's considered abortifacent by most religious objectors to BC.

  • It is meant to make the lining less hospitable, yes. However, the likelihood that someone will ovulate when taking their BCP correctly is very low, that 99%. And I have seen many patients pregnant with a healthy fetus while taking BCPs. All BCP's do is make the lining of the uterus thinner, perhaps preventing implantation.

  • how often it works to prevent implantation is pretty damn hotly debated from what I've read.  Because as long as it does that, it's hard to get real #'s, ya know?

Regardless, ALL forms of hormonal BC do it.  If you've an issue w/ that...well, yeah, you've got an issue w/ hormonal BC.

'course, I don't haveppen to have an issue w/ that

  • Thanks. I like to make sure I have accurate facts.
