need wardrobe help
I'm going to a baby shower on Saturday. I"m technically one of the hosts, but I haven't done much. I feel like it's a low-key event, but I really only know a few of the people going. The grandmothers might not approve of jeans, you know?
A few key points:
* I do have to help set up, so nothing dainty that I can't move around in.
* It's in New Jersey. weather this weekend is COLD on top of more COLD.
* I don't really even know what fits me. But give me a starting point and I will see what's in teh closet and try it on.
I was thinking maybe black or gray slacks with heeled boots and a sweater set? Again, I don't think any of that stuff fits me at the moment, but I'll be trying it on.
Other ideas?

Yeah, for all of 42 hours, and I already have to split my time between my friends and my family.
Believe me, I am peeved that there is no time for a quick jaunt to NYC.
