We were JUST talking about this yesterday, and I said I NEVER give money to homeless people.
But today I did. Because he had a cat, who was wearing a sweater and was on a leash. A cat in a homemade sweater, you guys. I couldn't say no to it.
Re: I broke my own rule.
this could be a fun game, "what is everyone's rule".
That's my main problem here too. There are a TON of kids who chose to be on the streets, and they're rude and act like they're entitled to my money.
But this was an older guy. With a cat in a sweater.
Good reasoning. Actually, I would have thought the same thing. Seeing as I have 5 FIVE cats, because I can't find anyone to adopt them. My heart can't take that, if I take them to a shelter, they may not find a forever home...
(5 outside cats.)
I break it on occasion...
but I prefer to give where I know they use it on occasion.
But I might break it for a cat in a sweater.
What is it about cats in sweaters? When I was in Seattle, down by the original Starbucks, volunteers were soliciting donations for a local animal shelter. One guy was holding a cat in a sweater, and the next thing I knew, I was emptying my wallet into their collection jar.
Cats in sweaters, man. SMH. Gets me every time.
