Hello everyone! My husband & I moved to Lexington back in May and we're just now getting completely settled here. The hubby is in the Army Reserves and I currently work from home. I don't have any "social time" with people my age and I'm going stir crazy just sitting around the house! I'm at a loss as to where to look for cool girls to hang out with. I hope to get tons of replies!

Hi! I agree this board doesn't get much traffic but I just happened to notice your post and I live in Lexington! My husband and I are in a very similar situation. We moved here about a year and a half ago after I finished grad school- My husband is an electrician and I work at Saint Joseph. We both only work with people that are practically twice our age (we are 26) so it has been very difficult to meet friends. Unfortunately I don't have any recommendations for anywhere cool to hang out and meet people- lol. We usually spend the weekends going out to eat and a movie. Sometimes we go out and play pool- I can recommend some pretty fun bars and stuff if you're into that sort of thing
Hi! I am in the same boat. My husband and I moved here from Florida in August. I have gotten involved in a couple of groups, and that's allowed me to meet some people. First, there is a "Lexington Women" meetup group on meetup.com. I haven't gone to an official event yet, but I've met some girls separately on that site. There are a few fun events coming up. There is also the Lexington Young Professionals Association, which has fairly regular events. I've been to a few, and they've been fun. I can give you more info on both of those organizations if you're interested!
I work from home as well, so I totally relate to being stir crazy. Maybe if we have enough interest, we could get a group together for dinner or drinks sometime!? Where in Lex do you ladies live?
We live over near Hamburg. We like going out for dinner/drinks, occasionally going to a few bars downtown, watching sports, movies, etc. -- we're pretty much up for anything! We are dog lovers as well -- we have a pug. Hopefully once the weather improves we can find a dog park to take him to!
You should definitely check out those groups I mentioned. The women's group has an event coming up at the piano bar downtown (I think next weekend)...might be fun.I might check it out.
I would definitely be up for getting together sometime if you ladies are interested! Maybe we could meet for dinner -- either with or without the hubbys? Let me know...I work from home, so my schedule is pretty flexible!
I've heard there's a decent dog park off of Richmond Rd. -- Jacobson Park, I think? We have a fenced-in yard as well, but my pug is longing for some social interaction, so I think we might check it out when the weather warms up!
I agree with the piano bar thing...it's not really conducive to talking and getting to know people!
I'm going to shoot you an e-mail this week...my name's Barbie, by the way.
