Is how big the hospital bill I got today was. I thought I was DONE paying for the birth. Argh. We are so broke.

This particular bill was for 25,000 (3 days in the hospital). Out of that, I only have to pay 1,250. That's like .5%.

Though I must say that it's a small price to pay for that cutie pie you get to come home to everyday

How whacky that you are still getting them so much later. I understand that it takes time to process things sometimes but almost 6 months? Seems like someone isn't doin their job.
Sorry you got hit with another bill. I am amazed sometimes with how much certain people have to pay OOP even with what is considered to be great insurance. My BF ended up paying 8K total OOP because her insurance only coveres 60%.
Hopefully this will be the last of them.

This is why I am already putting money away even though we arent TTC yet... A baby nest egg for all the crazy bills!
My sis was in the hospital for 5 days...I wonder how ginormous her bill was.
This is one of the many reason I do not agree that health insurance that is offered to Federal employees is not offered to "regular" people. The insurance M has (that I am now on) is the best insurance I've ever heard of. They cover pretty much EVERYTHING and it's so cheap compared to ther insurances (for instance, the place I work's insurance they offer employees, they pay 100% of the premium and they have the cheapest plan possible, is STILL more, by almost 3 times). Even though I am not on my job's insurance they still cover 100% of our premium because I am an employee and my boss said why wouldn't he since it's even cheaper than what they have. For the birth of a child all you have to cover is your deductible which for family is only $350 after that, everything is covered.
I will never for the life of me understand why government insurance is just that, it should be offered to everyone, everyone should have the same choices for health insurance. Don't get me wrong, I obviously love my insurance but also think it's unfair, especially seeing what I used to have to pay oop (like the people at my work do now).
Insurance is just so ridiculous.
